These are tough times. But, believe it or not, it’s not all bad news.

The media have been telling us for the past two years that a slowdown’s coming; and now it seems they’re delighting in being right. Every time you open a paper, turn on the TV or radio, or go online, it’s all misery, doom and gloom in business and the economy. Aside from being plain depressing, this is drowning out the good news stories that are out there.

Now this is no time to be in la-la land – we are where we are, and we need to get out of it. But focusing on only the bad stuff is just going to get us down. It will leave us lacking the inspiration and confidence to work our way out of this. What we need is something to balance this, not add to it. So we’ve created this blog, to search out and share the shoots of economic recovery that are out there.
